I am a PHP Web Developer from Mesa AZ

I specialize in Web application development using PHP, MySQL, HTML, XML, CSS and JavaScript. I am a big fan and user of the Kohana PHP MVC framework and the jQuery JavaScript library. As an experienced developer both in solo and team work, I am capable of programming both back-end systems as well as effective user interfaces. I currently work for Synapse Studios, but I occasionally take on freelance or other fun projects. Please view my résumé if you would like more information about my skills and experience.

About Me

Jeremy LindblomI am a 25-year-old Web developer from Mesa, AZ (USA). I hold a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science from Arizona State University. I love web development, web design, and computer programming! In my spare time I like to sing and jam on the keyboard with my band, Regular Heroes, and spend time with my lovely wife, Penny, and my baby boy, Joey.

This was a quick website I did while working at Synapse. The client already had the design prepared in Photoshop, so I sliced it up and built a Wordpress theme out of it. This involved PHP, HTML and CSS as well as knowledge of Wordpress theme creation.

I worked as an intern over the summer of 2007 to help CampusSpots.com create a new website. The website was designed by Bobby Small, and I did the implementation and programming. I even added a few touches to the design myself. Extensive PHP work was done as well as MySQL, HTML, CSS and JavaScript.

I worked on this project while working at Synapse Studios. I came into the middle of this project, and it was mostly complete. My main tasks on this project were to work on custom portions of the PHP to customize Magento (an open source eCommerce software) and to fine tune some of the CSS to make it even more pretty.

I'm a web developer, but also a musician. We needed a website for our band, Regular Heroes, and because not all of us are web developers, I had to make it. I built this design to fit on top of the Joomla CMS. This involved HTML, CSS, and some PHP. The rest was just configuring Joomla. This year we plan to release our first album and a new website.

Another project I did for my friend Bob was for the musical that he has written and is producing. Bob actually did most of the designing himself and hired me to code it up for him. It involved a little PHP for templating and form processing, but most of the work was in the HTML and CSS. His play will take place in August of this year, go to his site for details.

I did a couple of freelance projects for my friend Bob. For one of his ideas he wanted a simple website with what he called a “country-home” feel. After playing with some colors and a few stock photos, I built this very “friendly” website. For this project I used only HTML/XHTML and CSS.

You're on this website right now. As a fun project I decided to create a portfolio and blog site for myself and my wife. I think it turned out nice. I did the whole design and theme creation process. This involved PHP, MySQL, HTML, CSS, JavaScript (jQuery) and Wordpress theming. I also did the design in Photoshop originally and sliced it up for the theme. I hope you like it too.

What do I do?

I make websites and Web applications. I’ve been writing HTML since the 8th grade, and have worked hard to hone my skills and pick up new ones. I do both front end and back end development. I also enjoy Web design, but I usually leave that up to more artistic Web designers. I am first and foremost a programmer. I love working with PHP, especially with the Kohana PHP MVC framework. PHP provides the flexibility and power that is necessary for creating great web applications. I make stuff that works.

Who do I work for?

I work as a Web application developer at Synapse Studios. “Synapse Studios is a Phoenix, Arizona-based full service web application development and consulting company.” We have a hip but humble little office on Mill Avenue in Tempe. At work I help build large-scale Web applications for businesses, groups, and individuals. It’s a lot of fun. We are a sharp little crew of people, and we enjoy what we do. We have satisfaction in our work and want to make the Web a better place.

Why do I do it?

I simply love Web development. My interest in computers all started when I first played Nintendo back in those glorious early 90′s. As Web and Internet technology have developed, so has my interest in Web development. The more I learn and do, the more I want to learn and do more. The Web is an exciting world, and I feel that I can improve it in some way by creating new parts of it and helping others realize their ideas. It is my passion.
