I have always been against buying pizza by the slice because it is usually a big rip-off. I mean, it is usually between $2 and $3 dollars for one slice, but I can go to Little Caesar’s and get a whole pizza for $5. However, I make an exception to this rule when I go to Slices in downtown Tempe on Mill. Though it seems a little pricey at first, it won’t take you long to see that you are getting a good deal. There are two big reasons why this place is a great pizza joint.
It turns out that the trim() functions of PHP are even more useful than I originally thought. The trim functions ( trim(), ltrim() and rtrim() ) are normally used to trim whitespace from the ends of strings. However, the definition of trim from the PHP Manual states: “Strip whitespace (or other characters) from the beginning and end of a string”
. I added emphasis (literally) to the part that says “(or other characters)”. That means we can trim anything from a string. I hope you can see the value of this. Well, I’ll show you a brief example anyway after the fold.
The new Ninjormon video (#2) was released recently. For those unfamiliar with the Ninjormon: The Ninjormon is a parody on the character from Ask a Ninja. It is made by my brother-in-law, Jared Nielson, and his friend, Ted Sowards. The humor is mostly for Mormons, but if you know anything about them or their interesting and unique cultural and social mannerisms, you may find the Ninjormon entertaining. Check it out the Ninjormon videos on YouTube or from the Ninjormon website.

2008 was a fun year. It really flew by too. Apparently, after you get married, years start flying by. I’m getting older and chubbier too. Let’s catch everybody up on what happened with the Lindblom’s in 2008.

Dave’s Doghouse sits right on University Dr in the middle of ASU campus. While all other buildings and businesses on the block have sold out to some unknown buyer, Dave’s Doghouse still stands erect like a as a fortress of amazing American food. When I say amazing, I mean amazing! Dave’s is not for the light of heart; everything there is fried, greased and buttered to perfection in a most glorious and delicious way. I stopped in there saying to myself, “It’s just a hot dog joint, how good can it be?” What I received was the easily the most delicious hot dog I have ever eaten in my life.
The buns are toasted and buttered and the hotdogs themselves are certainly better than you can find at a store. Combine that with the wonderfully selected combination of toppings piled on top, and you have yourself a really tasty morsel. Their chile is also amazing. Try a chile dog! It will change the way you think about hotdogs. They also have a small variety of other foods available like their sliders, which are fantastic as well. I have never left there wanting.
